Victorian Mourning Jewellery
This beautiful example is made from highly reflective Vauxhall Mirror Glass. In the language of flowers and mourning the fern leaf had a number of special meanings. Sorrow, Victory (of the soul over the mortal body) and Resurrection. They were most often worn as a symbol of lost love and perhaps it was worn as a remembrance of a lost love by a loving wife who had lost her husband.
